Footmaxx partners with Seattle's famous Pike Place Fishmongers to test custom orthotic
Footmaxx is thrilled to be partnering with the world-famous fishmongers of Seattle’s Pike Place Fish Market to help their aching feet and backs with top-of-the-line custom orthotics.
The fishmongers received Footmaxx’s VoyagerTM custom orthotic, the company’s most advanced custom orthotic to date, engineered to wick moisture and prevent odor, absorb shock like none other, plus regulate foot and body temperature—creating the “perfect ecosystem for the feet.” Founded in 1930, the fishmongers of Pike Place are world-famous for thrilling their customers with fish throwing, games, and witty banter. They may be standing on concrete floors for as long as 12 hours at a time, and many report foot and back pain.

On Tuesday, September 26th, the Footmaxx team scanned the fishmonger’s feet with the powerful Footmaxx 3DmaxxTM System, the world’s most accurate and precise 3-dimensional volumetric foot scanning device. 3Dmaxx offers a lightning-fast 8 second scan time, 800,000 data points and scan accuracy of up to 250 micrometers.
Based on the detailed information sent digitally by 3Dmaxx, professionals in Footmaxx’s lab in Virginia built the custom orthotics and shipped them back to Seattle for dispensing on Friday, September 29th. The team received Footmaxx’s top-of-the-line Voyager custom orthotic, with a temperature and moisture regulating Smart-TechTM top cover; stronger-than-steel Carbon EdgeTM heel cup; PORON® Vive® in the forefoot for added propulsion; and XRD® Technology in the rearfoot to super-charged shock absorption.
